Qualifications:
Prior custodial/maintenance work Ability to follow through and complete assignments without supervision
Responsibilities:
Performs custodial support for school activities.
The custodian will strive to provide a clean, healthful, and pleasant environment for students, staff, and school patrons.
Regular communication with the Principal and the Director of Buildings & Grounds must be maintained.
Routine custodial duties in all building areas:
Cleaning of classrooms, offices, lavatories, drinking fountains, corridors, stairways, windows, and common areas.
Collection and proper disposal of trash throughout the building.
Respond to spills, accidents, etc.
, that require immediate custodial attention.
Properly cleans, setup, and breakdown of the cafeteria.
Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, stairs, and exits.
Apply ice melt as required.
Responsible for cleaning light fixtures and changing bulbs or fluorescent lamps.
Anticipates supply needs and orders supplies as needed.
Maintains assigned custodial equipment in clean, operational-ready condition and reports any repairs to the Principal or Buildings & Grounds Manager.
Maintains custodial closets in a clean and orderly condition.
Make minor repairs, modifications, or light construction as required i.

Performs related or special tasks assigned by the Principal or Buildings & Grounds Manager.
Notify the Principal and/or the Director of Buildings & Grounds of any necessary repairs or malfunctions daily.
In the event of an emergency, custodial staff are subject to call for duties other than their regular assignment.
